About Dr. Volkmar Denner

From 2012 to 2021, Dr. Volkmar Denner was CEO of Robert Bosch GmbH, a leading global technology and services company in the fields of Mobility Solutions, Consumer Goods, Industrial Technology, and Energy & Building Technology with revenues of almost 90 billion euros and more than 400,000 employees worldwide. He is regarded as one of the most successful and technology-savvy top managers in Europe.

Dr. Denner was appointed to the Bosch management board in 2006 and was responsible for the company’s Internet of Things and Services, among others, before becoming the seventh CEO in the company’s more than 126-year history. Prior to this, he became Chairman of the Automotive Electronics division, after serving as Head of Sales for ECU Development and System Application in the Engine Control Systems division for petrol engines, and Head of Engine Control Unit development. Mr. Denner began his career as a technical specialist at Bosch.

Dr. Denner studied physics at the University of Stuttgart. He then obtained a doctoral degree from the University of Stuttgart in quantum technology with research stays in the USA.
