About Dr. Reinhard Ploss

Dr. Reinhard Ploss has been Chairman of Knorr-Bremse, a global leader for braking systems with more than 33,000 employees in more than 100 locations in 30 countries and revenues of € 7.9 billion, since 2022 and is one of Germany’s most renowned managers. From 2012 to 2022, Dr. Ploss was CEO of Infineon Technologies AG, the largest German semiconductor manufacturer and one of the world’s 10 largest semiconductor manufacturers with about 59,000 employees and revenues of € 16 billion.

Before Dr. Ploss became CEO of Infineon, he was member of the firm’s management board since 2007 and responsible for the operations area. Until 2007 he held different leadership positions, among others, in the divisions automotive, industrial and multimarket, and was head of automotive and industrial. Dr. Ploss started his career at Siemens in the semiconductor and chip manufacturing area.

Dr. Reinhard Ploss is member of the TUM University Council, honorary member of the Stifterverband and since 2023 member of the supervisory board of Deutsche Telekom. He was president of acatech, the National Academy of Science and Engineering.

Dr. Ploss began studied process technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and obtained a doctoral degree at TUM.
