About Christian Wulff

Christian Wulff is the former President of Germany and was the tenth and youngest President of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Prior to his election as President of Germany, Mr. Wulff was Minister President of Lower Saxony for seven years and was the youngest Minister President in Germany at the time of his election. At the end of his term as Minister President, Lower Saxony had the lowest unemployment rate for two decades, 3,000 new teachers, and 1,000 additional full-time day schools. Prior to that, Mr. Wulff was a member of the state parliament in Lower Saxony, chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament, chairman of the CDU in Lower Saxony, and deputy chairman of the CDU, after working as a lawyer in Osnabrück for several years.

Among other things, Mr. Wulff is patron of the Federal Association of the German Multiple Sclerosis Society, president of the German Choir Association, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German Foundation for Integration, member of the Advisory Board of the Felix Nussbaum Foundation, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dieter Fuchs Foundation, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the DFL Foundation, and the German Club of Rome Society. He also holds honorary doctorates from Tongji University and the University of Tsukuba.

Mr. Wulff studied law in Osnabrück and completed his law studies with the second state examination. During this time, he was chairman of the Junge Union Niedersachsen, a member of Osnabrück City Council, a member of the Federal Executive Committee of the Junge Union, and chairman of the CDU parliamentary group on Osnabrück City Council.
