Since 2020, Carsten Knop has been editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.), one of the three German newspapers with the highest circulations, which is known for its first-class business editorial team, among others, and is regarded as a newspaper of record, making Mr. Knop one of the most socio-politically influential personalities in Germany.
From the beginning of 2018 until March 2020, Mr. Knop was editor-in-chief for the digital products of the F.A.Z. Before that, he was a business correspondent in New York and San Francisco before returning to Frankfurt to become head of corporate reporting and later also responsible for business news. He took up his first editorial position in 1995 for the “Börsen-Zeitung”.
Mr. Knop began his career in journalism before leaving school as part of an internship in the editorial department of the “Westfälische Rundschau”. This work led to freelance work in the local editorial offices of this newspaper. After studying business administration at the University of Münster, Mr. Knop completed a traineeship at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
