Dr. Richard Lutz

Dr. Richard Lutz is CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, a leading provider in the mobility and logistics sector with more than 340.000 employees, consisting of the integrated rail system, DB Schenker, and DB Arriva. He is one of the most important leaders of the German economy and has a significant influence on the development of the infrastructure in Germany.

Before being appointed CEO, he was Chief Financial and Controlling Officer at Deutsche Bahn AG for several years after holding various positions in the organization’s finance area. During his 30-year career, Dr. Lutz has modernized the railway infrastructure and promoted rail transport in Germany. Mr. Dr. Lurz started his career at the German Federal Railway (“Deutsche Bundesbahn”).

Dr. Lutz studied business administration at the University of Kaiserslautern, where he also completed his doctoral degree.
