Dr. Kai-Ulrich Deissner is CEO of Ceconomy, a leading European consumer electronics retailer, which consists of MediaMarkt and Saturn, among others, with approximately 50,000 employees, and is one of the most important top managers in the European retail industry.
Prior to his appointment as CEO, Dr. Deissner served as the company’s CFO. Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years at Deutsche Telekom, holding various management positions, including Segment CFO for Technology & Innovation, CFO of Hrvatski Telekom in Zagreb, and Managing Director of Finance for Customer Service. Before that, he was a senior consultant at mm1 Consulting and consultant at AOL, following his time as Managing Director of Pixelpark GmbH. Dr. Deissner began his career as an editor at Focus and Financial Times Germany.
Mr. Deissner trained as an editor at the German School of Journalism in Munich and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Languages and History from the Free University of Berlin. He subsequently obtained a doctorate in English Literature from the University of Cambridge.
